Bird Memory: Bird Show of North America
Bird memory: I saw this band called Bird Show of North America play in Seattle in 2005 (they were just called Bird Show then). They did instrumental songs, each named after a bird, and they had a painter on stage doing a live painting of the bird. They were excellent. I had gone to Seattle with my college girlfriend to see about moving there together (something my parents were very against). I was living in Indiana at the time and my girlfriend was in Chicago. Neither of us had finished school.
When we showed up, we stayed with the sister of my girlfriend's friend and the sister's boyfriend. I had met Nashville hipsters, but the sister and the boyfriend were the first PNW hipster types I'd ever met: they were in their mid-twenties (a few years older than me, just turned 20), they drank craft beer and he was in a band. A band called Bird Show.
